Bardo Basketball Summer Team Tryouts are built for players who want to compete, develop, and grow in a high-energy and team-first environment. Our program focuses on player development, accountability, leadership, and competitive basketball while helping athletes build confidence both on and off the court.
Whether your athlete is looking to sharpen their skills, prepare for school basketball, or compete at a higher level this summer, our teams provide structured practices, competitive tournament play, and coaching that emphasizes development over shortcuts.
At Bardo Basketball, we believe it’s bigger than basketball. Players will be challenged to compete, communicate, and work for something greater than themselves while learning how to be great teammates and leaders.
Teams will begin practices during the final week of June leading into the 4th of July. Following the holiday weekend, teams will compete in 6 summer tournaments/shootouts throughout July and early August. Our goal is to provide players with a competitive environment that balances development, team chemistry, and meaningful game experience throughout the summer.
Date: Sunday, June 14th
Location: St. Charles East High School
Tryout Fee: $15
Introduction:
Bardo Basketball is founded on the principle that “It’s Bigger Than Basketball” —
Our basketball program is built on the belief that the game extends far beyond the court. We aim to cultivate not only skilled athletes but also well-rounded individuals who can apply the lessons learned inside the 94 feet to all the aspects of their lives. Our philosophy is grounded in the idea that basketball is a tool for personal growth and development, helping players chase their dreams and become better humans.
Core Values:
Character First: Prioritizing integrity, sportsmanship, respect and leadership above everything else.
Growth Mindset: Embracing challenges as opportunities for learning and improvement.
Team Unity: Fostering teamwork, communication, and trust among players.
Personal Accountability: Encouraging players to take ownership of their actions and decisions. “Never say Can’t”
Resilience: Building the ability to bounce back from setbacks and stay focused on goals.
Goals:
Skill Development: Enhancing personal basketball fundamentals, strategy, and game intelligence.
(We believe repeated fundamentals done the correct way, is the path to improvement. Continually intensifying and making fundamentals more challenging is where growth can compound.)
Personal Growth: Instilling life skills like leadership, communication, and daily disciplines.
Practice Itinerary:
45-minute Individual and Skill Development sessions: These sessions include repeated skill development drills to enhance each player's basketball fundamentals and build self-confidence to attack the court.
45-minute Team concepts: Includes analyzing game-like situations, team playbook, and Live scrimmages.
*In addition to our team practices, We also offer skills training on the days we don't have team practices for each grade level. We want our players to have the best opportunity to grow and also give discount codes to those players that make our team rosters.
Upon arrival at tryouts, All Parents and Players will receive additional information about the upcoming season.
